Education

Many of the famous quotes of the revered Nelson Mandela are about education, the most famous one is CUASVAHH’s motto: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela quoted about the importance of education as such: “The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. It can contribute to nation-building and reconciliation. Our previous system emphasized the physical and other differences of South Africans with devastating effects. We are steadily but surely introducing education that enables our children to exploit their similarities and common goals, while appreciating the strength in their diversity.”
CUASVAHH uses his words this way: “ The power of education extends beyond the development of skills we need for economic success. Even when economic freedom is very important in making victims less vulnerable. The proper education can contribute to nation-building and gender reconciliation. Haiti is today extremely divided in every sectors, rape is rampant and gender gaps prevalent. CUASVAHH is steadily but surely introducing education and training on sexual violence and homophobia that enable our people and most importantly our children to exploit their similarities and common goals of a non-violent society, while appreciating the strength in their diversity and harboring tolerance.”
Another Mandela quote, that speaks volumes to CUASVAHH’s mission:
“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
CUASVAHH is using Mandela words to share the importance of training in its mission: “A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.”
CUASVAHH emphasized in providing trainings to its special volunteers as we believe that “One must be trained well to be able to educate well.” Our volunteers are young men and women of diverse backgrounds united by their passion for change, non violence and freedom for all.
The Haiti that CUASVAHH is envisioning responds to Nelson Mandela quote:
“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.”
